  • Finis...and yet...

So, this is it...but it will go on....

Class tomorrow.  4 presentations.  If time exists we will do a few bits and bytes.  You got the email with final instructions so after class tomorrow the blog is considered closed.

Of course, this site will not be shut down but for the Fall Quarter 2008, the Trends class is offically over.

Major_T is my personal blog on xanga and I welcome you to join the conversation to continue there if you are so inclined.  I do hope all of you will continue to write, blog and express yourself.

Thanks for being a great class...

    Blessings.

  • Our second to the last class

No witty entries today or elaborate assignments...just prepare to be taught by five of our students tomorrow with their project presentations...

Please keep up with your blogging, your bits and bytes...there will be time at the end of the class to decompress a bit and wrap up what we have been taught by our resident "experts".

Sad to think that this class is coming to an end but I truly hope many of you will make and take the time to keep your blogs alive, the discussions going...its been quite a ride so far.

  • So then...

    So....

    how did Jesus vote anyway?

Reminder that tomorrow the presentations start.  You know who you are.  The brave ones go first.  The class is in your hands...

    1.  You have 20 minutes...period.  I will cut you off, shut you down, turn you out if you go past 20 minutes...boom!

    2. Bring your paper and research materials with you tomorrow when you give your presentation.  You don't have to do turnit in for this.  This only applies to those presenting tomorrow...the rest of you can wait till its your turn!  aww...a smily face...how cute...

If there is time left we will go over any bits and bytes.  Also, please feel free to use your blogs to write down some of your thoughts about what you are thinking about these days.  What are you learning?  What are you processing?  What are you challenged with?  Those are your bytes and they count as well.

    Blessings.

  • Dancing and stuff

Ok...we meet tomorrow...we have basically two classes left...this week and next.  This week we will discuss EPIC (ie. - see Sweet)  We will meet in the classroom but will move to either the main lounge or Cadet center to have discussion on this book.  Bring coffee or whatever with you.  We will do bites and bytes later if time permits.

So, for next week, what topics would you like to talk about that we haven't covered yet?  Anything you want me to explore in lecture/discussion format?

Projects...we have 13 of you in the class.  We will need at least 5 of you to go forward on November 5 - any takers before I just pick you at random.

For Ryan, no, we won't have a discussion on the 4 Generations book. I gave you that lecture in the multi cultural seminar a few weeks back. If you would like to read the book and do your book report on it, that would be great.

And last...stop what you are doing...click this link.  Take a few minutes to smile and be happy.  I promise this will lighten your load if but for a brief few moments.

    See you in class tomorrow

Hey class...I just checked out Eric's Bit and Bite. For anyone that loves academia, I would encourage you to view his pieces. Let it load first, but watch the first part of Richard Dawkins where he starts blasting ID. Then go out and watch the Super Trailer to Expelled. This is good stuff! Eric

The following comments are all from the book, They Like Jesus but not the Church by Dan Kimball. The first comment comes from page 122. Kimball states, “It’s ironic that the church is seen as a boys’ club when the Scripture calls the church the bride of Christ (Rev 19:7)”. I had never thought about

Here is my Bit and Byte. As we have been reading much from Dan Kimball, I thought I would wander to his website (http://www.dankimball.com/). I found his comments on the changing vernacular concerning the term “emerging” as interesting.

Check out this site, http://www.drbill.net/. He is a professor of Old Testament at Evangel University. The Griffin Music link is great with some funny songs.

So once you get notice that you are in this class, are you ready to start? Or do you want to wait until January 8, 2008, our first day of this class?
